We run for sweet #146

Photobucket

I've done it before. Run for someone else.
It was nothing like running for my own self-gratification. Nothing at all.
There is an unexpected and euphoric moment where you understand that you're simply a catalyst to a better outcome.
A better tomorrow.
A better future.

For someone out there that you will never lay eyes on.

In that sense, it's a freedom-moment. You release yourself to wherever it is that your soul will take you and you release control. You run for the sake of running. You run for the sake of someone. You run for the promise that we can make a difference. We can make things better. We can. I can.

From the moment I learned of Love 146, just like the prior organization I ran for, it has haunted me.
Haunted me that we live in 2012 and atrocities that I will never comprehend are occurring.
Occurring as I write this and I can do so little.
I can't run to these sweet children and hold them, grab them and protect them.
I can't express the hatred and obscure anger I have, for the people who hurt them. No, I can't do any of these things.

But I rest knowing two things.

Judgement will come and it will be swift. It won't be mine but the Almightys.
and I can do something small.

On April 21st, my husband and I will be running the Seal Beach 10K. Neither of us have run a 10K before but we are getting ready.

We run with hope.
We run to help.

Consider doing something small but fire-filled.

We run and won't stop, not even once.
We will run with the same fire that #146 had in her eyes.
We run with fire in our step and a plan to do something small but burning with the heat in our hearts.

  3. I am a huge fan of Love 146 and the work they are doing.
Human trafficking is such a heavy burden on my heart.
I'm working towards spending a summer {in 2014} in Uganda and Ethiopia working with former prostitutes, child soldiers, and orphans.
Its so exciting seeing what the Lord
is doing through these organizations in person!

I will be praying for you and your husband!
I'm sure you both will do great!

  4. My heart breaks for the girls you are running for. God bless you for being a voice to those whose voice has been stripped. God bless them. And hopefully...this ministry can help. Thank you for yanking us out of our comfort-seeking lives and drawing us into the very heart of God. Bless you for that, my friend.

  5. Love146 is such a neat organization. I pray it runs itself out of work one day. Thanks for sharing. And I love sword drills, too.
